deception falls is the debut album by hip-hop collective and musical group EXOCIETY, released on March 11th, 2022, and recorded by Rav, Kill Bill: The Rapper, Scuare, and Airospace over the course of two weeks during a trip to a cabin in the woods near Skykomish, Washington. The album's lyrical themes include struggles with depression, anxiety issues, feelings of alienation, and self-hatred, alongside lyrics about social issues and struggles. Sonically, the album takes influences from a large amount of different forms of hip-hop, with consistent influences of Experimental Hip-Hop, Jazz Rap, Cloud Rap, and Abstract Hip-Hop. Other occasional influences across some of the album's tracks include Drumless Hip-Hop, Conscious Hip-Hop, Trap, Lo-Fi Hip Hop, Boom Bap, Emo Rap, Nerdcore Hip-Hop, Psychedelic Hip-Hop, and Industrial Hip-Hop. The album's producers include group members Rav, Kill Bill: The Rapper, and Scuare, alongside production from regular collaborators Autumn Keys, Seito, and Raw Stiles. A one-hour documentary about the album's recording process directed by Carson Tucker was released on EXOCIETY's YouTube channel on March 16th, 2022.
