The original CD (MPSCD001) was released in March 1994. Some notes on "CONTRASTS" (MPSCD001) - electroacoustic music composed, arranged, performed, recorded, and mixed by Carey Nutman. Track 1. Calm Study No. 1. (2.35). This is a minimalist piece. I improvised a simple chord progression using a Korg DW-8000 keyboard synthesiser. The MIDI data from the short improvisation was recorded into a computer sequencer and looped. Composed on the 19th of October, 1989. Track 2. Facing the Infinite, II. (8.45). Composed in May, 1990. Track 4. Patricia. (3.30). This piece was composed in February, 1991. It started as a graphic score. My wife's name was writ large in the score, then turned into conventional dot notation. The dots occupy the positions of the original graphics - and it works ! Track 5. Ramps and Contraflows. (10.55). This work is divided by the Golden Se
