Album
Hatrix was a thrash-metal band founded by singer Jeffrey "Nothing" Hettrick in 1989. It featured several members who later joined the 8-piece project Mushroomhead, including Jeffrey Nothing, Steve "Skinny" Felton (drums), Dave "Gravy" Felton (guitar) and Marko "Bronson" Vukcevic (live guitar). The only member who didn't join Mushroomhead was bassist Kevin Skelly. Although the band's career was short-lived, it was fairly popular in the local metal scene of Cleveland, OH, and despite bearing a very different sound still helped form Mushroomhead. It was revived a couple of decades later on stage for a few shows, but never became active again, as Jeffrey's departure from Mushroomhead would lead him to create another band of his called "Nothing" through which he releases new material. Hatrix's only studio album, "Collisioncoursewithnoplace", was released in 1994 through Massacre Records. It's a frantic thrash ride featuring many audio samples, time signature changes, and even some moody keyboard sections. Some of these elements would eventually serve as a basis for Mushroomhead's writing. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
