Codeine Cobain is about Juice WRLD’s long-time addiction to Codeine, one of the main ingredients in lean, and Percocet, the pill that tragically took his life on December 8th, 2019. He raps about how the drugs are killing him and how they cause him immense pain in his life, but he’s unable to quit, and that there’s “no hope for us”, referring to addicts in general.
