Chords of Many Colours is, as the title suggests an album about and involving many variations of musical chords. The variety of chords that can be constructed from the 12 notes in the diatonic scale is just incredible as well as intriguing and fascinating. I have tried here to use specific groups of chords together in each of the compositions with the title of each suggesting the choices used. I have also arranged the titles in an order that for me creates a very loose story line. I am sure most of you will, with a little imagination be able to fill in the remainder of the adventure between titles. Certain chords suggest a particular mood or feeling just by the very nature of the combination of notes played simultaneously. I followed these feelings that were created within me to develop the melody and mood of each composition. I am no musical expert, I just enjoy the sounds and the pictures they suggest to me whether they are musically correct or not. To me it all works. If it sounds right then it is right. Overall the mood of the album is generally laid back and most titles are self explanatory as to the chords used, with maybe Shades of Black being the only exception. This is a pentatonic creation using only the Black notes on the keyboard β thus the title. So once again the advice is - get your headphones on and take the time to sit back and enjoy another truly personal listening experience brought to you courtesy of my imagination.
