Inspired by her love for Chicago and its music, double bassist and composer Silvia Bolognesi travelled to Chicago from Italy to complete a project with some of her favorites Chicago musicians . The music was inspired by improvisation around a core of simple themes and rhythmic cycles, which made the ensemble come together easily. Long time music collaborator cellist Tomeka Reid (Hear in Now trio), drummer Mike Reed and trumpeter Russ Johnson added their unique voices to the compositions and gave the music life in a stunning live performance captured by recordings which were also performed live.
