Album
"The de-evolution of man." That's how Viagra Boys frontman Sebastian Murphy sums up the theme of the band's third album. "My inspirations were how divided everyone is, people's ideas of why things are happening, and just general craziness-especially reactions to the pandemic," he tells Apple Music. "I was also very inspired by a few documentaries about monkeys." As always, the American-born vocalist of the Swedish punk group puts a witty and humorous spin on the subject matter, but its roots come from the genuine despair he feels viewing his home country from abroad. "I definitely use the States as a reference point because it's a real melting pot of insanity, in my opinion," he says. "I mean, those types of people definitely exist here in Sweden, but they're not storming the Capitol or anything."
