CARRANCA is the third studio album by Brazilian artist Urias. Announced in August 2025, the project marks a new phase in her career, characterized by a fresh musical and visual aesthetic. Produced by Rodrigo Gorky, the album promises an emotionally intense sound, rich in symbolism and influenced by Afro-Brazilian culture and spirituality. With the sea, ancestry, and freedom as central themes, Carranca presents a journey of symbolic and affirmative transformation in Urias’s art. The work dives deep into ancestry, spirituality, and Afro-Brazilian culture, engaging with elements of Candomblé and celebrating ancestral resistance. Its title refers to the “carrancas”, carved wooden figureheads once used as protective talismans on boats, a symbol that evokes spirituality, ancestry, the sea, and a sense of belonging.
