CARAVAN features 10 of Lisa’s fresh treatments of standards, Brazilian, and contemporary selections by such varied composers as Tizol & Ellington, Joni Mitchell, Baden Powell, Cole Porter and Billy Idol. In addition, Caravan boasts the debut of “From the Earth”: her new vocal arrangement of FREDDIE HUBBARD’s tune “Red Clay”. Lisa was inspired to pen original lyrics to Mr. Hubbard’s funky jazz classic, and is grateful to have received his personal review and permission to record “From the Earth” – one of the last works approved by the late-great trumpter.
