By Augury is a sometimes dark exploration of themes including emotional disconnection, thwarted ambition, impending mortality and paranoia. But there is light along with the shade. Along the way, you will meet characters like Sam, a personal diary who feels frustrated and neglected since her owner stopped writing entries, and the lovely Louisa, who is compliant, but difficult to satisfy, and easily deflated Throughout, the focus is on strong melodies, vocal harmonies and spare arrangements.
