Butterfly Boy is Ryan Caraveo’s fourth studio album. Work on the album started only two days after Caraveo’s last studio release, At Least I Tried. During an interview with Front Row Live, Caraveo described the theme of the album: “It deals with a lot of mind control and there’s “triggers” in it that ‘cause the mood to change. Kind of like a sleeper cell…It’s on some MKUltra shit.“ This is the first Ryan Caraveo album that has interludes within the tracklist. He stated the purpose of their inclusion in the same interview with Front Row Live: “I wanted to on the last album but it was just too late to do it. But on this one, I was just listening to all the songs together and it just felt like a bunch of bounces...I can’t expect that everyone know how it’s supposed to flow. Why I put this song after that one. So I added the interludes to tell a story with it.“ User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
