Loser Points is a three-piece band based Alberta, Canada. The starting lineup is Jawsh on guitar, Shark Fin on bass, and Ozone on drums. Jawsh and Ozone played in the band Chimp Change from 2010-2013. Through Chimp Change the pair met Shark Fin when they teamed up to play few shows with Shark Fin's band Booze Cruise. In November 2015, the three decided it only made sense to start jamming together so they could get the chicas. Loser Points’ main influence is punk rock, especially 90s Fat Wreck releases. The first jam was filled with the normal Nofx, Lagwagon, No Use For A Name covers. After about 20 minutes of these covers, the band decided to write a few of its own tunes for an EP. A few shot gunned beers later, and the music portion of Buncha Bangers was written. Before ever jamming, the trio had discussed various topics of interest. These topics included Razor Ramon, The Mega Powers, Jaromir Jagr, Pokémon, and Ozone’s troubled sinuses. So when it came time to add lyrical content to Buncha Bangers, it was (obviously) not too difficult for the guys to find song themes. Loser Points has a monthly podcast called “The Machismo Hour” that has been getting rave reviews from the chicas. The band also releases a monthly song to anyone who subscribes to its mailing list.
