Recorded masterfully at The Brighton Electric by Junk Scientists (a.k.a Russ Keffert) and mixed by indie luminary Catherine Marks (Interpol, Foals, PJ Harvey and Placebo) the album is an assured debut, which demands repeat listens. Described as “…music for arena’s…” by Brent Hansen, former president of MTV, the album only adds further fuel to the clamour for the quartet who, with this album, will no doubt imminently be propelled into mainstream consciousness. The album follows the release of two singles “Killing Me” and “Every Bone” and, drawing from 80’s post punk influences, pulls no punches as it broods and swoons in classic indie style. The album is comprises of a wonderful array of beautifully crafted songs, from the introspective heartfelt ballads “Lullaby” and “Kiss Me” to the epic indie anthem “Every Bone”, passing through the sharp fast sound of “Killing Me”, “Harrier” and “Us Against Them All”. Following in the footsteps of great UK frontmen, lead singer Teddy Quick charms us with his passionate, tender and heartfelt lyrics, serenading the recurring themes of love, loneliness and the longing for acceptance and understanding. The music is built upon the driving bass of Jimi Laff (nephew of Mark Laff – Generation X and Subway Sect) and the solid drums of Tom Hargreaves, allowing guitarist Dave Gritzman to paint a dynamic canvas for Teddy to express himself.
