On January 26 and 27, 2024, 2hollis would perform in Chicago and New York on his first tour of the year. This was the first full look at this new era of music, with the encores of each show being the project’s first 2 singles, “light” and “crush.” The rollout for boy would begin with the release of “light” on February 22 with no official announcement other than posts on Instagram and TikTok. Two months after “light,” the highly anticipated “crush” would be released as the second and final single on April 26. It would be accompanied by an official visualizer that seems to draw inspiration from the traditional look of NoCopyrightSounds, a popular record label and promotional YouTube channel. After months of snippets and posting, 2hollis would take to social media to officially announce the release date and tracklist on May 27.
