Back in the day when the blues boys started plugging the old six-string into their fuzzboxes, ‘blues’ got renamed to ‘rhythm and blues’, or R&B for short. This album brings us back to those days, when the rhythm and the blues boogied hand in hand in a sweaty dance. Gerald Clark and his band have done the hard yards, and the blood, sweat and tears has paid off as the tightest blues rhythm section section in the country puts the pedal on the metal. And over the top of it all, Gerald’s gravel and honey voice ducks and weaves, telling the stories of old as a young man who has lived and experienced them. This is the finest of South African rhythm and blues, once again marking Gerald Clark as one of South Africa’s standout musical talents.
