Blue Water Road (stylized in all lowercase) is the third studio album by Kehlani, released on April 29, 2022, through Atlantic Records and TSNMI. It serves as the "lighter" follow-up to her previous album, It Was Good Until It Wasn't. The album was preceded by 4 singles “altar” released on September 15, 2021, “little story” released on February 22, 2022, “up at night (feat. Justin Bieber)” on March 30, 2022 and finally “everything” released on April 29, 2022 along with the release of the album. In its entirety it has 12 songs and also contains special appearances from artists such as Jessie Reyez, Syd, Blxst, Thundercat, Ambré & Justin Bieber. Upon release, Blue Water Road was met with critical acclaim. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from professional publications, the album received an average score of 83, based on nine reviews, indicating "universal acclaim".
