Hailing from Amsterdam (The Netherlands) this album from Geomatic is an absolute sensational release! This is one of the few releases a year I'm directly into and which convinces me from start until end! "Blue Beam" is simply one of the best releases I've heard this year! I think it would be too easy qualifying this project as an industrial combo. The sound and influences are covering a wide spectrum of influences. I hear influences moving into tribal, ambient and mysticism reminding me to Muslimgauze (and also for the Eastern atmospheres) while a deep dubby influence brings me to the corner of Leftfield. I know it might sound strange, but when listening to genius pieces like "The Bliss", "Protomorphioc Deception" and "Holographic Messiah" you'll for sure recognize all these elements and aforementioned bands. These songs guarantees a real strong debut, which only lead to the absolute pearl of this album entitled "Turn Of The Coil". This track is simply better than Leftfield and that's a statement! The main difference with Leftfield is the tribal and esoteric touch bringing me to Muslimgauze. This has been accentuated -and diversified when speaking of Muslimgauze- through a sublime female chant, which sounds like the apotheosis of Eastern mysticism. These vocal parts are another essential element in this album. We can't speak about vocals, but about the incorporation if mystical chants. There's a mix between female and male chants, but they all reinforce the spiritual touch
