Release Date: December 31, 2009 Genre: Progressive Electronic/Electronica Track Count: 8 Running Time: 59 minutes Catalog No.: AMC10020 Dieter Moebius has had top billing on 38 albums over the course of his 40-year career, including some of the era's most influential recordings. Along with Hans-Joachim Roedelius, he was a founding member of such seminal bands as Harmonia and Cluster, groups whose work inspired virtually every major electronic music movement that followed. He released three landmark projects with the artist that defined ambient music, Brian Eno, and more than a half-dozen albums with Conny Plank, who was, for nearly two decades, Germany's most significant music producer. Thanks to his dense schedule of collaborative projects, only four of these 38 albums were solo works and their release dates were years (sometimes decades) apart. Thus the ten-year anniversary reissue of Moebius second solo album, Blotch, affords both a comparatively rare glimpse at the artist's own neo-Dadaist style, and a special insight into the attraction of this pantheon of great musicians to Moebi's impulse to turn music into noise and noise into music. This re-mastered, reissue of the 1999 classic is a showcase of Dieter Moebius' sense of humor and wry wit. One of the Fathers of Kraut Space Rock & Founder of Kluster Cluster & Harmonia, displays an excellent collection of pieces that confirm Moebius' place in the music lexicon with his second solo release, Blotch.
