about this album

01 Get On The Way 02 This Is The Time Now 03 Ubalwa Ne Chamba 04 Black Power 05 I Don´t Know 06 Peaceful Man 07 I Need Mercy 08 I Have Got No Money Backsleeve notes: THE PEACE was a band from Ndola in Zambia's Coopperbelt, a mining region, in central Zambia, central Africa. A natural extension of the mineral-rich region of Katanga, the Copperbelt is one of the richest sources of copper in the world. Cobalt, selenium, silver and gold also. Before they became THE PEACE the band had the name The Boyfriends, a popular local band comprising the likes of Ted Makombe, were Emmanuel Chanda from the W.I.T.C.H. (aka We Intend To Cause Havoc), popularly known as 'Jagari'- a corruption of his hero's name - Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, use to jam. In his days Ndola, it is a rather quiet town, and certainly not a place that makes you think in rock or even music. But in the 1970's Ndola (the administrative capital of a once flourishing Copperbelt)must have been a rocking place with bands like this one. Recorded in the Copperbelt studios in the midles 70's. Directed by Eduard THe original record was pressed at Copperbelt recording studios owned by Edward Khuzwayo himself. Now we licenced and mastered from the original vinyl this almost impossible to find record at Angola Studios in Luanda, Africa. This LP is one of the those gems from Africa's diverse music scenes in the 1970's in particular the Zam Rock scene. Recorded at Malachite Film Studios - Chingola
