Beating A Dead Horse is the debut album by YouTube comedian and musician Jarrod Alonge in May of 2015. It is made up of seven different parody bands, including (in order of appearance) Amidst the Grave's Demons (melodic metalcore, trancecore) Sunrise Skater Kids (pop punk, emo-pop), Chewed Up (beatdown hardcore, metalcore), Vermicide Violence (deathcore, brutal death metal), Canadian Softball (midwest emo, math rock), Rectangles (progressive metal, djent) and $wagch0de (crunkcore, screamo). These bands found their initial appearances in some of Jarrod's YouTube skits, including "Every Pop Punk Vocalist" (Sunrise Skater Kids) and "Every Metalcore Vocalist" (Amidst the Grave's Demons). The name Vermicide Violence is a parody of the deathcore/brutal death metal band Suicide Silence. A deluxe edition of the album titled Beating a Dead Horse: Deluxe Ultra-Limited Exclusive Undead Edition was released in December of the same year. It includes 6 new songs from every band on the album besides Chewed Up. The deluxe edition is the version of the album that is available on Spotify. The album features lots of guest vocals, such as vocals from Jared Dines, Cody Carson of Set It Off and Johnny Franck formerly of Attack Attack!
