This, Barefoot Contessa's debut album, was recorded before the band had ever gigged. It was originally independently released on Indie 500 in July 1995 in an edition of 500, hence the name of the label (It is of course also a tangential motor racing reference; many-times Indy 500 winners Lola Cars were based near Graham's Cambridgeshire home). Successful gigging, and especially airplay and a session on BBC Radio 1, led to these selling out within weeks. Collectors will spot this first pressing by the "Manufactured by Future Age Music Express" credit on the actual CD. Otherwise the package remained the same throughout subsequent pressings, the last of which sold out in September 2000.
