about this album

If you know your South African music you will know that Rap in indigenous languages is something new, for any artist to make it they have to move from their small towns to Jo’burg, this is where major recording labels seem to be harvesting for talent but this has not stopped local talent from spreading their wings and using any measure to get their talent and voices heard. This is what is happening in all the rural urban locations all over Eastern Cape, I have listened to guys from P.E Walmer, New-Brighton, Zwide even from Dimbaza and Cape Town that have perfected their art in Xhosa Rap. Abantu is one of such artist that have perfected his style, I took the Bantustan Cd from my brother last time I was home in P.E ( I’m sure he is pissed off) All I can say is his material is something worth listening to, his flow in Xhosa in a level no Xhosa artists has been able to (sorry Walmer Kasi-boys), im going home this festive season hopefully I can get his latest material from my brother until such music is available from local JHB/Pretoria music stores.
