After the release of his debut studio album Finally Rich (Deluxe) in December 2012, Chief Keef decided to follow it up by going back to his Bang series. Chief Keef first teased Bang 2 a few days before Finally Rich had released by uploading a picture on Instagram and captioning it "#WhereBang2IsGettingMade #300 #Dec18 #FinallyRich,”. Days later we would unveil the cover on Instagram captioning the photo "“#BangPt2 #CominSoon,” After a brief 60 days stint in Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center where he would be jailed from January 15, 2013 to March 14, 2013, Chief Keef would throughout the year tease and release multiple songs with some of the songs being include on Bang Pt2 such as "Morgan Tracy" & "Ain't Done Turnin Up" Finally after multiple delays, on August 12, Keef would announce that the project would release on his birthday August 15 and in a surprising fashion the project would actually release on that day. At the time of release the mixtape had received a lot of negative reviews from critics due to the change of style from his Finally Rich album, but now the project is loved by many and is credited as being one of the most influential projects in Hip-Hop/Rap history.
