Stian Carstensen (born January 5, 1971 at Eidsvoll) is a Norwegian jazz and folk musician and is known as one of the country's foremost multi-instrumental (eg accordion, guitar, flute, kaval, gaida and banjo). He plays a central role in a number of record releases. Game star winner Stian Carstensen (42) would really become an architect, but forgot all the time to draw the beams. It became music of it. Terje Mosnes, Dagbladet Karriere As a child, he learned from his grandfather and touring father, and toured North Dakota (1982) with his own tune, "If I could only get a little Lefse". In 1983 he debuted the TV at Halvsju. After a period in the metal genre, he studied at Viken Folk High School, followed by guitar studies at Jazzlinja (NTNU) (1989-92), in 1991 he established the Farmers Market Quintet. He received the State Art Grant to study Bulgaria's polyphony, and later pursued the desire to combine different music traditions, with study trips to India, USA (Kentucky, 1998) and England, using musicians from there in concert and plate releases. He is a resident of Eidsvoll, and honorary member of the Eidsvoll Jazz Club (2002), where he is known for his "Forward Jazz with Stian Carstensen". Lately, he has succeeded in the composition of Salme til Trekkspillens Fremme (2005-). The radio documentary in NRK P2 ordered a new national anthem to May 17, 2008 with both text and music by Stian Carstensen. The result was the march «Yes, Noorge».
