Combining elements of ELO, Leonard Cohen and the Moody Blues, “Backroads to Owltown” marks the summation of Tony Arnold’s song-oriented compositional approach with Doyce Whisanant's eccentric vocal contributions. HIs other concept projects include Musaphonic, The Pachinko Allahs, and Menage 'A Twang. Matt Howarth of Sonic Curiosity writes: "This release from 2009 features 79 minutes of homey rock music. Grinding guitar, sneaky electronics, and spry percussion generate enticing progressive rock tuneage.
