BACK2DATRAP is Lancey Foux’s upcoming third mixtape, following up his October 2022 album LIFE IN HELL The mixtape was first teased on January 11, 2023, where Lancey took to Twitter sharing a snippet off the mixtape, along with the caption simply stating: “back 2 da trap” On March 31, 2023, Lancey announced on Instagram that the mixtape was complete and is confirmed to have eleven tracks. It is also confirmed that producer Bally would be the executive producer. Jay Trench will also serve as executive producer for the mixtape: "#back2datrap complete! 11 vibes! @back2bally u ready ?" During the months of April and June 2023, Lancey teased the mixtape through both his Instagram and Twitter pages to help out with the mixtape’s rollout. On June 6, 2023, Lancey revealed on social media a newly launched website, back2datrap.com. On the website, two songs both produced by Lancey and Bally, were posted on the website, alongside a message stating: "FREE LANCEY BACK2DATRAP OUT SOON" Then on June 24, 2023, Lancey took to Twitter hinting on the project’s release, simply with the caption: “I think it’s time..” After nearly a month of radio silence and anticipated waiting, on July 20, 2023, in the United Kingdom timezone, the mixtape’s lead single, “MMM HMM” featuring Sexyy Red, was released onto all platforms, while the rest of the world got the track the next day.
