Album
Aonua is the self-titled debut album from AONUA. The music is a blend of traditional Polynesian instruments, vocals, native sounds and wildlife fused with modern instrumentation. The album features the beautiful vocals of Maori singer Taisha. There are 15 tracks in total which range from ambient emotional songs such as Whetu, Karanga and Matauranga, chill out down-tempo songs such as Whakarongo and Te Moana, through to up-tempo songs incorporating fast Polynesian log drumming such as Haerenga and Kia Kaha. The songs are written in the languages of Maori and English so the listener can hear the beauty of the Maori language while still understanding the meaning of the songs. Released in 2008 User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
