"Another Green World" is the third solo studio album by English musician Brian Eno, credited mononymously as "Eno". It was released by Island Records on 14 November 1975. The album represents a stylistic shift from the rock-oriented approach of his earlier solo work toward the ambient music he would further develop in the late 1970s. Of its fourteen tracks, only five include vocals, marking a departure from his previous vocal-based albums. The album was produced by Eno and Rhett Davies and features contributions from a small group of musicians, including Robert Fripp on electric guitar, Phil Collins on drums, Percy Jones on fretless bass, and Rod Melvin on piano. John Cale performs viola on two tracks. The recording process incorporated methods inspired by Eno’s Oblique Strategies cards, resulting in the use of unconventional techniques and experimental instrumental roles, reflected in credits such as "snake guitar" and "uncertain piano". The cover artwork is a detail from "After Raphael", a work by British artist Tom Phillips. Upon its release, "Another Green World" received critical acclaim, though its only significant chart performance at the time occurred in New Zealand, where it reached number 24. Retrospective assessments have remained highly favorable, with publications such as "Rolling Stone", "NME", and "Pitchfork" ranking the album among the most significant works of the 1970s and in broader surveys of all-time greatest albums.
