Review of track "Money" on Fairly Coherent "Album: Amalgamation Release: November 2010 File Under: Jazz, Funk, Bossanova Similar: Nouvelle Vague, Caravan Palace Website: myspace.com/brkn.glass For full disclosure, I used to play sax and I actually went to high school with Broken Glass Extet's sax player Byron. But trust me, that has nothing to do with anything because this song is smoking. The fusion between the jazz, funk, latin, and bossanova with soloing and an absolutely amazing singer is how cult bands are formed. One can't listen to this without thinking about Nouvelle Vague or Caravan Palace. Like I've mentioned before, my favorite part of listening to indie artists is hearing how much fun they have making the music. They are in it for that, but like the lyrics say - 'Money makes the world go round.'
