Alone In The City is the third mini album by South Korean girl group Dreamcatcher. It was released on September 20, 2018, with “What” serving as the title track. The album is the fifth installment of Dreamcatcher’s Nightmare Series and represents a thematic shift toward contemporary, real-world anxieties as a new chapter within the ongoing narrative. The album was released in two physical versions, titled Light and Shade. On May 18, 2020, Dreamcatcher announced through their official Twitter and fan café that a Kihno Kit version of the album would also be produced and released. Alone In The City consists of six tracks, including an instrumental version of the title track. The opening “Intro” establishes a tense atmosphere, followed by “What,” which anchors the album’s central themes. “Wonderland” and “July 7th (약속해 우리)” were additionally promoted on music shows, while tracks such as “Trap” explore darker emotional tones within the album’s rock-driven sound. Conceptually, Alone in the City expands the Nightmare Series by shifting its focus from fantasy-based storytelling to the psychological stressors of modern life, including anxiety, pressure, and emotional isolation.
