The Alone EP is the first Extended Play released by California indie shoegaze dream pop band Caustic Souls. The EP was written and recorded over the course of a year, with recording beginning on December of 2020. The EP covers an array of genres including indie, post-punk, slowcore, shoegaze, dreampop, and alternative rock. The EP was written by singer/guitarist Pedro Velasquez and Chris Gonzalez, while the recording was done entirely at home on GarageBand by Velasquez. The EP had an initial online release on June 24, with the official release to streaming services on July 3.
