Album
Almost Home was recorded in Perranporth, Cornwall, is produced by Sean Lakeman (The Levellers, Show Of Hands, and many others…..) – The bulk of the record being self-penned by the bands own, Dave Podmore, (bazooka & banjo), one by guitarist/vocalist Mike Mathieson, with a few inspired cover’s as well – namely songs by Sean’s brother Seth Lakeman – and Rory Gallagher too. Almost Home is an album fuelled with the all the essential Mad Dog energy, and antics that the band have become known for – Dave Podmore writes engagingly about Mad Dog stuff – as one might expect, all night drives, police car chases – Folk musicians, in particular have been playing tribute to the hero’s of WW1 of late – Mad Dog Mcrea are no exception, offering up their bone chilling song – “You Can’t Find Me”. Seth Lakeman’s song, “The Sound” includes beautiful guest vocals from Suzie Mac. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
