The song was officially announced on March 1, 2024, after Conan Gray had posted many teasers and snippets to the song. “Alley Rose“ is about Conan Gray's ex-lover, and how they left him out of nowhere. "Where'd you go go Alley Rose?", is Conan trying to figure out why his lover left him so suddenly. Conan chose to name this song "Alley Rose" because he wrote it while he was on Abbey Road in London after his lover had left him as he was on a plane to see them.
