"Actualized" is the second single from DANAE's debut EP "Direction". She described the background of the song in a recent interview: In summer of 2015, DANAE traveled to Los Angeles, CA for a writing week with Danyew. During their second writing session, Danyew began playing a moody chord progress in a mixed time signature with piano tone sampled from his parents home. As DANAE felt the vibe, she pulled up lyrics from her journal talking about heaven and a perfected Love. 8 hours later, after a trip to Umami burger, they bounced out a demo of 'Actualized.’ “From the very beginning of the creative process, there was just something special about this song,” said DANAE. True story. Over the next 8 months, Danyew and DANAE worked on the track long-distance, emailing demos and vocal tracks back and forth. Both perfectionists in their own right: Danyew with his tones and layers; DANAE with her lyrics and vocal production. “Lyrically 'Actualized’ is an onion,” said DANAE. “If you take the time to sit with the song, pull it apart and explore, there are unseen layers of meaning awaiting discovery.
