"I had recorded some songs on a little demo, and had been giving them to friends and family. I was burning these on my computer and running the CD stickers off on a color printer. But an album, a CD, a record had always been the goal. I love the creative process - the music, the lryics, the CD artwork - it's all connected for me. I wanted my 1st album to sound like me. (What I mean is that I wanted it to sound as if I were playing at my desk and there happened to be a mic set up recording me.) So that's what we did - Scott Jacobsen and I recorded the album over a weekend in a bedroom. You can hear Scott's voice at the beginning of Double. The goal from the beginning was to make an album that sounds like me in the oragnic/natural state."
