Album
"A Very Cool Christmas" (available at cdbaby.com/cd/michaellewis7) features instrumental smooth and contemporary jazz, RnB and New Age jazz arrangements of traditional Christmas songs with two original instrumentals. The album was produced and engineered by Michael Lewis (who is also the writer of the original songs). The album features a Grammy Award Winning rhythm section with Nashville session drummer/percussionist Brian Fullen and former Nashville session bassist Chris Kent who passed away from cancer in 2011. Michael is credited with all guitars, keyboards and piano for the project. The album was first recorded as a demo in 1994 at Lewis' home studio in Medford, Oregon and originally titled "Gift For The King." Michael moved to Nashville in 1996. The project was picked up by the One Music Production Library in 1999 who funded the re-recording of the songs which were then released in 2000 under the name Pop-Jazz Christmas. The new recordings were done at the Michael Lewis Music studio in Nashville, TN. Pop-Jazz Christmas features derivative versions of the full-length songs and is still available for Film and TV use through Firstcom music (Catalog #OMPOP023L.) A couple of the songs made it onto a "Director's Choice" compilation for Christmas/Winter music (Catalog #DCCHW1). Since the production library release in 2000, the project has gone through several revisions for the public/commercial version with the latest edition released in 2014 and available now on CDBa
