Julia LaDense compiled A Soccer Mom while she was pregnant with her first child. The album consists of a unique blend of field recordings/found sounds, Myspace Djing, and thrash beats. Julia’s second album, A Soccer Mom holds the listener with the oblique chaos and mayhem followed by atmospheric fuzz and a display of hardcore beats that blast through the stereo. Julia practices detournement, using familiar songs in unconventional ways - this so called Myspace DJing that blends songs together while using the myspace network provides a lo-fi quality that is difficult to replicate. The album itself spans over 9 unnamed tracks just under 30 minutes. As a bonus, the album also comes with a found CD with “A Soccer Mom” written over it. Released on Afternoons Modeling.
