2093 is Yeat’s fourth studio album following his third studio album AftërLyfe. Fans had initially thought they would receive the deluxe version of AftërLyfe after Yeat began to tease it from the album’s success; however, for reasons unknown, the deluxe was scrapped and Yeat publicly announced in a now-deleted tweet that he’ll create a completely separate album. From the 032c magazine, Yeat mentioned how 2093 is different compared to his previous work: "Between the last record and this upcoming one, it feels like a ten-album difference in time. People have no idea what it’s going to sound like. It’s, like, 2093, dystopian society" In early January, promotional projections were spotted around the world in large cities and landmarks, and a few days later, Yeat posted on Instagram posing with one of the projections, with the caption implying a February release date. Later that month, on January 31st, Yeat posted various photos confirming a February release date and possible Drake and Childish Gambino features on the album. On February 14th, 2024, Yeat would make the announcement post for the album releasing on February 16th, via Instagram and also sharing the possible cover of the album. On his story he would also encourage fans to get 250,000 comments on the post, which would lead to Yeat posting the official tracklist for the album. At around 5 AM EST, once the fans hit the specific goal, Yeat fulfilled his promise and shared the tracklist via his Instagram story. The
