SoSaLa has released an album not heard since 1993. For fans who are interested in SoSaLa’s (a.k.a. Sohrab Saadat Ladjevardi - whom Ornette Coleman, one of SoSaLa’s mentors, described as “the freest rock saxophonist”) interesting and accomplished music career, this limited edition retrospective album is a must. SoSaLa seamlessly blends Harmolodic Free-Jazz and No-Wave rock in a way that enhances every element the music draws on. The contributions by the other musicians enhance an already compelling and potent mix. The music sits well with rock and jazz, and at the same time transcends both. SoSaLa is a saxophonist / composer. He has performed / recorded in Switzerland, Germany, Japan, and the US as a leader, and with Salif Keita, The Tehran-Dakar Brothers, Burnt Sugar & The Arkestra Chamber, and many others. He produced several independent releases, publishes Doobeedoobeedoo.info, and founded Musicians For Musicians. As of this writing, a video of “Omar Khayyam in NY” is in the works with SoSaLa as the producer and Mark C as videographer and editor. A CD release event is planned for fall/winter 2023.
