Metal Gear: Ghost Babel (Japanese: メタルギア ゴーストバベル, Hepburn: Metaru Gia: Gōsuto Baberu), released in Western territories under the title of Metal Gear Solid, is a 2D stealth action game produced by Konami that was released for the Game Boy Color in 2000. Ghost Babel was produced by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan after they were commissioned by Konami's European branch to develop a portable adaptation of their 1998 PlayStation game Metal Gear Solid. The game is not part of the main timeline of the Metal Gear series, but rather serves as an alternative sequel to the original Metal Gear, taking place seven years after that game.
